How accurate is it?
We hid 23 games with no home-country setting, then checked which country Google Trends ranks first for a real shipped game like each one. The top market was found in:
On these games an LLM without Qloo data found it more often than Crowdspawn's ranking, and the ranking has a city bias: Stockholm came first for 9 of the 23 games. Trends measures search interest, not sales, and the samples are small. Use the ranking as a starting hypothesis, not a forecast.
Partners are where Qloo differs most. Asked for artists for 20 different games, an LLM without Qloo data repeated the same names: 32% of its picks came up for 3 or more games, against 5% of Qloo's. Every plan shows the comparison side by side.
The audience data checks out. Qloo's gender skew orders 10 genres the way a survey of about 270,000 gamers does (ρ 0.997). An LLM's guess matched too (ρ 0.991), but Qloo measures it for your exact comp set.
Honest limits
- It's an affinity index from taste data, not a sales or wishlist forecast.
- New indie games are usually not in Qloo yet, so everything runs through comparable games.
- If Qloo is unavailable, Crowdspawn refuses to make a plan rather than guess.
- The AI only proposes names and writes words. Qloo must find every game, place and artist, and any number the AI writes is checked against Qloo's results. No personal data is used anywhere.
- The country ranking has not beaten an LLM without Qloo data on games with no real-world setting (see How accurate is it?), and a Steam-review backtest on 6 shipped games lost to plain popularity. Use it as a starting hypothesis and test with small campaigns.
